ISTANBUL

Israeli airstrikes on the town of Kfar Hatta in Lebanon have reportedly killed six people and injured two, according to Lebanese media.

Reports said the Israeli army carried out airstrikes on Kfar Hatta, a town near Sidon in southern Lebanon, hours after issuing a threat of attack.

The reports stated that six people were killed and two wounded, and that emergency response teams are continuing search efforts for those missing under the rubble.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes also launched heavy airstrikes since midnight on the southern Lebanese areas of Kfar Dounine, Batouliyeh, Al-Shehabiyeh, Ain Baal, Kafra, Siddiqin, Wadi al-Hujayr, Nabatieh and Qana.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee earlier posted on US-based social media platform X a threat of an attack on Kfar Hatta because Hezbollah was allegedly operating in the town.

“For your safety, you must immediately evacuate your homes and move at least 1 kilometer away from the village," he told residents of Kfar Hatta.
