4 injured in southern Israel following Iranian missiles

Israeli media report multiple waves of attacks across country

JERUSALEM

Four people were injured in southern Israel on Tuesday after Iranian missile barrages targeted multiple areas, according to Israeli media.

Channel 12 reported that Iran launched 11 missile barrages since early Tuesday as four people were wounded by interceptor debris in the village of al-Jurf in the Negev region of southern Israel.

Air raid sirens sounded across several areas, sending millions of Israelis into shelters as explosions were heard during interception attempts, an Anadolu correspondent reported.

Israeli authorities maintain strict censorship over details of damage and casualties resulting from incoming missiles and drones launched by Iran, limiting the release of images and information.

The US and Israel have carried out airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28, so far killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
