NEW DELHI
Indian authorities on Tuesday arrested two owners of a nightclub located in the western Indian state of Goa, where 25 people had died in a fire this month, after they were deported from Thailand.
Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra, brothers and co-owners of the Goa nightclub, landed in the national capital New Delhi on Tuesday after they were deported from Thailand, state-run Doordarshan News said.
It said the brothers were arrested at Delhi airport and will be produced in court on Tuesday.
At least 25 people died, and six others were injured in a fire that broke out at the nightclub in Goa at midnight on Dec. 6. Those dead were mostly members of the kitchen staff.
Soon after the incident, the two brothers fled to Thailand. Both were recently detained by Thai authorities.
Goa, a popular tourist destination, is located on India’s western coast.
