In a phone call, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the ongoing escalation and hostilities in the Middle East.
During the call, they also discussed the conflict's impacts on security and stability on the regional and international levels, Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said on US social media company X, without giving further details.
Since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, so far killing some 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, hostilities have escalated.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while also disrupting global markets and aviation.
