SARAJEVO
Naser Oric, former senior commander of Bosnian Muslims forces during Srebrenica siege, has said that the appearance of Ratko Mladic in court in The Hague was a part of justice for Srebrenica.
Talking to the AA correspondent on Thursday, Naser Oric defined former Serbian army commander Ratko Mladic as a coward, and he said the trial proved him right.
"Mladic once again showed his real face. The real warriors and leaders do not definitely kill civilians. He was a sick man. During the war days, he was bringing the press with him and telling them what to cover. He was acting like a film director. Mladic knew that he would be in the jail for rest of his life when he captured, that is why he is pretending to be an ill man now. I have a doubt about his penalty," said Oric.
We were expecting Ratko Mladic would face the justice one day and it happened, stated Oric.
The appearance of Mladic in the court is a part of justice for Srebrenica, he also said.
"This sick man did not try to protect women and children. His soldiers broke the rules of Geneva Convention in every sense, and now it is normal to be held responsible for everything," he stated.
Former Bosnian Serb army commander Ratko Mladic was on trial in The Hague on Wednesday 16 years after the Srebrenica massacre during Bosnia war in 1995.
Naser Oric was the senior commander of Bosnian Muslim forces in municipalities in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Srebrenica from 1992 until the fall of the Srebrenica siege in 1995.
