An Egyptian appellate court annulled a lower court’s decision to execute militant leader Adel Habara and six others over alleged involvement in the case known as the second Rafah massacre.
Last year, 35 people, including Habara, were accused of terrorism-related charges after 25 Egyptian security personnel were killed in Rafah in 2013.
The verdict was issued based on a petition by the defendants. Habara and 34 other suspects will be retried.
