ANKARA (AA) - Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, has been re-elected in Wednesday's election, winning 84.68 % of votes.
President Aliyev, who succeeded his father, has been in power for ten years. He has won a third term as the president.
Opposition leader Jamil Hasanli took about 8 % of votes.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan extended their congratulations to Aliyev for his victory.
