ANKARA

The head of the Turkish delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) has taken up a new role.

Osman Askin Bak, lawmaker of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, was on Monday appointed as deputy president of NATO PA.

Turkey has been a member of NATO for 66 years, while Turkish army is the second strongest army of the military alliance after the U.S. armed forces.
