A Turkish artist claiming 1.5 million daily listeners said on Friday that young people entering the industry should be fearless.

Ferhat Kantik, also known as Dj Kantik, said investing in materials and following the latest music technology is important, underlining that he improves himself via trail and error.

"If a musician fears the future, this is reflected in their notes," he told Anadolu Agency.

Recalling how he was drawn to instruments even as a child, the 30-year-old musician living in Turkey's western Manisa province said he would listen to his grandfather’s records before he learned to play the piano.

Kantik started his professional music career in 2005 with the songs Miss Belalim and Waptamix Violin.

Today his 2017 hit Kul still can be seen on music charts, even as he works independent of any record company.

With 1,200 songs and performances in nearly 42 countries, Kantik said the countries he visited most included Pakistan, Italy, Morocco, Albania, Macedonia, Thailand and Brazil.

As he is currently engaged to a Pakistani woman, the musician said he is "called the groom of Pakistan," adding: "Pakistanis consider Turks as brothers and sisters."

He is also popular in the Arab world, dating back to his first concert in Egypt in 2010.

"I think my music is appreciated in Arab countries because I synthesize traditional instruments from Turkish, Arab, and the Middle Eastern cultures with today’s electronic instruments," he said.
