Michel Platini, president of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), and Elmedin Begic, president of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, inaugurated on Monday a new training center in Zenica, central Bosnia.
"Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of open hearts, and our hearts are beating the football rhythm today,“ Begic told the opening ceremony.
Begic added that the National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hence forth have a modern training center where they will be able to better prepare for the World Championship.
"It is very good that we have this modern training center today, but we have to remember that we do not have a proper stadium. It shows how little attention otğ current government is giving oh football,“ Begic concluded.
According to FIFA ranking, the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina currently holds 13th place.
"I know very well, from the times I played against the Yugoslav national team, that this area is full of very good football players. And this center will help those who are just coming,“ Platini said.
The training centre in Zenica was build with financial help worth 3.9 million euros from UEFA and 600,000 dollars from FIFA.
