Top-seeded Djokovic cruises into 4th round of Wimbledon


Novak Djokovic defeated his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon on Friday.

The top-seeded Serbian in men's singles claimed a 3-0 victory (6-0, 6-3, 6-4) over No. 30 seed Kecmanovic at London's Center Court.

The Serbian superstar will face Tim van Rijthoven of the Netherlands in the next round.

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the No. 5 seed, moved into the fourth round after beating Germany's Oscar Otte in straight sets.

Cameron Norrie and Jannik Sinner qualified for the next stage after beating their opponents in men's singles.

In the women's singles, Maria Sakkari suffered an early exit after losing to Tatjana Maria from Greece with the sets of 6-3 and 7-5.

Elise Mertens, meanwhile, clinched a 2-0 win over the 2018 Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber to advance to the next stage.
