Both tennis stars notch straight-set wins against their opponents in Paris

Iga Swiatek, Daniil Medvedev march into French Open last 16

ISTANBUL

Iga Swiatek and Daniil Medvedev have qualified for the French Open fourth round after beating their opponents on Saturday.

Playing at the Philippe-Chatrier court, the top-ranked Polish player Swiatek defeated world number 95 Danka Kovinic from Montenegro 6-3 and 7-5 in the women's singles clash that lasted an hour and a half.

In the men's singles, No. 2 seed Medvedev claimed an easy victory over Miomir Kecmanovic, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, and 6-2, at the Court Suzanne Lenglen.

Russia's Andrey Rublev and Italy's Jannik Sinner moved to the next stage after winning their games.

The French Open kicked off on May 22 and will end with the final match on June 5.
