ISTANBUL

Serbia, which failed to play in the previous World Cup in Brazil, will look for success in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

After Montenegro had become independent, Serbia managed to qualify only for the 2010 FIFA World Cup that was held in South Africa.

In South Africa, Serbia was eliminated in the group stage.

Serbia will take on Brazil, Costa Rica and Switzerland in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Group E.

The Balkan team had led the European qualifiers group with 21 points.

Serbia will be led by Manchester United central midfielder Nemanja Matic, Roma defender Aleksandar Kolarov, Zenit defender Branislav Ivanovic and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
