ISTANBUL

Five times football World Cup champions Brazil are willing to end World Cup title drought.

In Russia 2018, Brazil will play against Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E.

Despite their 16-year World Cup drought, Brazil has won the title more than any other country.

The South American giants last lifted the cup after toppling Germany 2-0 in 2002 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan.

Brazil led South American qualifiers as they bagged 41 points. Thus they booked their place for the World Cup in Russia.

They won 12 matches out of 18 and had five draws and one loss. Brazil scored 41 goals and conceded 11.

In the qualifiers they were only beaten by Chile 2-0.

Brazil are targeting the 2018 World Cup with many well-known stars such as Neymar, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Casemiro.

Brazil are the only team which have been qualifying for all World Cup tournaments since 1930.

Having won this title for five times in history, Brazil completed the 2014 FIFA World Cup in the fourth spot even though they were the hosts.
