Ukraine’s National Police said Monday it received 1,216 anonymous bomb threats targeting buildings across the country.
According to a statement, 20% of the reports have been processed, with no confirmed cases of explosives found.
The reports have been received since 11 am (0800GMT) via email addresses of state authorities, local governments, educational institutions, enterprises, organizations, banks and other institutions, it said.
“Explosives and explosives services, dog handlers, and investigative and operational groups are working on the ground. Inspections and checks are ongoing in compliance with all safety algorithms,” said the statement published on US social media platform Facebook.
Police said measures are being taken to identify those involved in spreading the “false reports.”
“It is possible that this is another information-psychological operation from the enemy,” it added.
