A journalist was killed in Thursday's Russian attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, local media reported Friday.

Vira Hyrych, who was working for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/R), died after a Russian missile hit her apartment last night, according to state news agency Ukrinform.

At least 10 people were reportedly injured as multiple missiles targeted the residential building.

The attack came amid UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ visit to the Ukrainian towns of Borodyanka, Bucha and Irpin.

On April 5, Ukraine's Ministry of Culture and Information Policy said that 18 journalists have been killed and 13 injured since Feb. 24, the beginning of Russia's war on Ukraine.

During the war, it added, three journalists went missing, and eight journalists, including four women, were kidnapped.
