Cooperation between Türkiye and Bangladesh is at an all-time high as bilateral relations continue to strengthen, according to Dhaka’s envoy to Ankara.

As Türkiye and Bangladesh mark 51 years of diplomatic relations, Ambassador Mosud Mannan lauded the deep-rooted bilateral ties between the two countries.

“Bangladesh and Türkiye must combine their abilities to develop new technologies to increase people’s incomes and quality of life,” Mannan said at the first Economic Diplomacy Symposium held at the Bangladeshi Embassy in Ankara on Thursday.

Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, current head of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, hailed Bangladesh’s “remarkable” progress in overall development.

Members of the D-8 are Türkiye, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

Imam pointed out that Bangladesh has moved up from the category of the Least Developed Countries to the Developing Countries bracket.

“This is a remarkable development. We encourage all our member states to learn from Bangladesh’s achievements,” he added.
