Yemen’s Houthi leader declares support for Iran against US-Israeli attacks

Attacks on Iran represent 'war on Islam and Muslims,' says Abdul-Malik al-Houthi

SANAA, Yemen

Yemen’s Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said Thursday that his group stands with Iran against what he described as “US-Israeli aggression,” declaring that the movement is ready for any developments in the ongoing confrontation.

In a televised speech aired by Al‑Masirah TV, al-Houthi said the attacks on Iran represent “a war on Islam and Muslims” and warned that the conflict targets the entire region.

He stressed that the Houthi group stands alongside the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic, adding that the group is “ready for all developments in this battle.”

Regional tensions flared up since Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28 that has so far killed some 1,300 people and injured over 10,000 others, according to Iranian authorities.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets.
