Turkish foreign minister to visit Saudi Arabia for Gaza Contact Group meeting

Hakan Fidan will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts in Saudi capital

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s foreign minister will visit Saudi Arabia on April 28-29 to attend a meeting of the Gaza Contact Group, which was formed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League to push for a cease-fire in the Palestinian enclave.

Hakan Fidan will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts during his visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, according to diplomatic sources.

The meetings will focus on ways to stop the ongoing war in Gaza and how a two-state solution can be implemented, the sources said.

The contact group was established at a joint summit of the OIC and the Arab League in Saudi Arabia in November to stop the conflict in Gaza and help achieve lasting peace.
