Rocket from Lebanon hits house in northern Israel, woman injured

An Israeli woman was injured after a rocket fired from Lebanon struck a house in the northern city of Nahariya, Channel 13 reported Monday.

The report said Israel detected rocket fire from Lebanon targeting Nahariya. Eight rockets were launched, seven of which were intercepted, while the eighth hit a home in the city.

The Israeli military said sirens sounded in several northern towns, including Nahariya, following the launches.

Channel 13 reported that the woman sustained minor injuries. Video footage showed extensive damage to the house.

Sirens have been sounding widely since dawn in dozens of Israeli towns near the Lebanese border, indicating continued rocket and drone launches from Lebanon.

At least 7,693 people have been injured since the start of the US-Israel war on Iran on Feb. 28, the Health Ministry said. While the ministry has not released a death toll, media reports and the latest available official data estimate that 33 people have been killed.

Israel has also expanded its offensive in southern Lebanon since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, despite a ceasefire that took effect in November 2024.

The escalation comes as Beirut and Tel Aviv have agreed to hold their first meeting on April 14 in Washington to secure a ceasefire and launch direct talks.

Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades and others since the previous conflict between October 2023 and November the following year.
