Netanyahu meets Omani FM in Warsaw: Israeli TV

JERUSALEM

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a “secret meeting” with Omani Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alawi in Polish capital Warsaw, an Israeli television channel reported on Wednesday.

Israel’s Channel 13 broadcast a video that purportedly showed the Omani FM arriving at the parking lot of the Warsaw hotel at which Netanyahu is currently staying.

When confronted by a Channel 13 reporter who asks him if he is there to meet Netanyahu, bin Alawi declines to comment.

Netanyahu's office, meanwhile, has not issued a statement confirming or denying whether the alleged meeting took place.

The Israeli PM arrived in Warsaw on Tuesday to take part in a U.S.-sponsored Mideast conference attended by representatives of several Arab and Western states.

Late last year, Netanyahu visited Oman (with which Israel does not maintain formal relations), where he met with Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
