Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the military to carry out strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, according to a report on Saturday.
The decision came in response to what his office described as 'numerous ceasefire violations' by Hezbollah, the report by Yedioth Ahronoth said.
Netanyahu instructed the army to act 'forcefully,' the statement added.
The move comes amid a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. On April 17, US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day truce, later extending it by three weeks.
Since March 2, Israel has continued to violate the truce, resulting in 2,496 deaths and 7,725 injuries since March 2, while Hezbollah has responded by targeting Israeli military positions in southern Lebanon and Israeli communities.
