An Israeli officer shot dead a 14-year-old Palestinian late Wednesday suspected of carrying out a knife attack in Jerusalem, security sources said.
The attack took place near a light rail station on Shivtei Israel Street along the "Green Line" which demarcates the border between West Jerusalem and occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli police said in a statement.
The boy believed to be responsible for the attack was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officials.
The statement did not provide any details on the attack.
A large number of police officers were dispatched to the scene, the statement said.
Israel's national medical emergency, disaster, ambulance and blood service, known as Magen David Adom, or Red Star of David, reported that a 25-year-old Israeli man sustained moderate injuries in the attack.
