Israeli military identifies missiles launched from Iran, defense systems working to intercept

Sirens sound in south, Lowlands, Jerusalem areas

The Israeli military said Saturday it identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, with defense systems working to intercept the threat.

The Home Front Command sent emergency instructions to mobile phones in affected areas, urging residents to immediately enter protected shelters and remain there until further notice.

Israeli Channel 12 reported sirens sounding in the south, the Lowlands and the Jerusalem area.

The US-Israeli strikes against Iran began Feb. 28 and have reportedly killed 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran has retaliated with repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
