The Israeli army said it detected missiles launched from Yemen toward southern Israel early Saturday, marking the first such launches from Yemen since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran late last month, according to Israeli media reports.
Israel’s public broadcaster KAN said the military “identified launches from Yemen toward southern Israel for the first time since the beginning of this war.”
Air raid sirens were activated in the southern cities of Dimona, Beersheba, and Eilat following the detection of the launches, it added.
The development came hours after the Houthis warned Friday evening of possible “direct military intervention” if any additional alliances join the US and Israel against Iran, or if the Red Sea is used to carry out operations targeting Tehran.
