Iran's mission to the UN on Wednesday emphasized Tehran’s willingness to engage in dialogue with the US, while warning that military pressure would trigger a forceful response.

"Last time the U.S. blundered into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it squandered over $7 trillion and lost more than 7,000 American lives," it said on US social media company X.

"Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests—but if pushed, it will defend itself and respond like never before," it added.

US President Donald Trump reiterated Wednesday that a “massive Armada” is headed to Iran, expressing hope that Tehran will “come to the table” and negotiate with Washington.
