Around 10 explosions heard in vicinity of Baghdad International Airport near US assets: Report

About 10 explosions were heard in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport near US assets on Tuesday evening, Iraqi media reports said.

Citing a security source, the Shafaq News Agency said a drone targeted a logistics support headquarters near the airport serving the capital, adding that the extent of the losses remains unknown.

The entire region has been on alert since Israel and the US launched a weeks-long offensive against Iran on Feb. 28.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
