The Israeli army said Monday that eight of its soldiers were wounded when an explosives-laden drone targeted its forces in southern Lebanon.
In a statement, the military said two soldiers sustained moderate injuries and six others were lightly wounded when a drone packed with explosives struck their position in the south.
In a brief statement, the military said it had intercepted more than 10 drones launched from Lebanon since the morning toward northern Israel and its forces operating in southern Lebanon, without specifying the total number of drones fired.
It added that the air force “continues to remove threats” while carrying out strikes against Hezbollah.
Since the start of Israel’s offensive in Lebanon on March 2, Israel has reported 12 soldiers killed and dozens wounded in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese authorities say the war has killed 2,085 people, wounded 6,762 others, and displaced more than 1 million.
