6 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrike on Gaza City home
Israeli fighter jet targets house, killing 6 people, including 2 children and a woman, and causing significant damage to surrounding homes
GAZA, Palestine
Six Palestinians, including two children and a woman, were killed late Sunday in an airstrike by an Israeli fighter jet on a house in Gaza City.
Gaza’s civil defense agency said on Telegram that the six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli aerial attack targeting a house in the Shamm'a area.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli fighter jet struck the home of the Basil family, resulting in the destruction of the house, damage to neighboring homes and the deaths of six Palestinians, with others injured.
Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas last October, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
More than 41,200 people, mostly women and children, have since been killed and over 95,300 injured, according to local health authorities.
The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the entire population of the territory amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
