- Israel imposes communications, internet cuts in Gaza City for 2nd consecutive day
GAZA CITY, Palestine / ISTANBUL
At least five people were killed, and scores of others were injured in the renewed Israeli attacks that targeted the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to medics and witnesses.
Medical sources told Anadolu that four people from the same family were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian woman lost her life to Israeli gunfire in Hamad Town in Khan Younis. Israeli artillery shelled several areas near the town, witnesses said.
The Israeli army continued detonating homes and residential buildings via booby-trapped devices amid artillery shelling and airstrikes on northwestern Gaza City, according to an Anadolu correspondent.
The air attacks come as Gaza City is experiencing a communication and internet blackout imposed by Israel for the second consecutive day, causing fear, anxiety, and a sense of isolation among Palestinians.
The Israeli army has continued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 65,000 Palestinians since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.
On Tuesday, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory confirmed that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza.
