Israeli occupiers attacked Monday the Palestinian village of Jalud in the northern West Bank under army protection, injuring one Palestinian, according to local and medical sources.
Occupiers assaulted Palestinians with stones and beatings in Jalud, south of Nablus, triggering clashes with dozens of Palestinians, local sources told Anadolu.
Israeli army forces deployed around the village during the attack to provide protection to the occupiers, witnesses said.
Medical sources said one Palestinian was injured after being beaten and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
About 750,000 Israeli occupiers live in 141 illegal settlements and 224 outposts in the occupied West Bank, including 250,000 in 15 settlements in occupied East Jerusalem.
Since the Gaza war began Oct. 8, 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and occupiers in the West Bank have killed at least 1,154 Palestinians, injured about 11,750 others, and led to the arrest of nearly 22,000, according to Palestinian data.
These attacks also include vandalism, the demolition of homes and facilities, the displacement of Palestinians and continued settlement expansion in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which the United Nations considers occupied Palestinian territory.
Palestinians warn that such actions pave the way for Israel to formally annex the occupied West Bank, which would effectively end the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state as outlined in UN resolutions.
In 1948, Israel was established on lands seized by Zionist armed groups that carried out massacres and displaced at least 750,000 Palestinians, later occupying the remaining Palestinian territories and refusing to withdraw or allow the establishment of a Palestinian state.
