Virus cases in Eurasia, Central Asia rise by over 3,300
At least 58 more COVID-19 fatalities reported across several countries

Over 3,300 more coronavirus cases and at least 58 fatalities were reported across several Eurasian and Central Asian countries on Saturday.
Ukraine
Ukraine’s COVID-19 tally increased to 116,978, with 2,481 more cases over the past 24 hours, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.
He said 41 more patients lost their lives, bringing the death toll to 2,492, while recoveries reached 56,138.
Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, 150 new infections raised the total to 105,558.
While recoveries increased to 95,888, nine more fatalities took the death toll to 1,572, the Health Ministry said.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan reported 188 more coronavirus cases, bringing the tally to 36,174.
Two more people died of COVID-19, moving the death toll up to 529.
At least 33,576 patients have recovered in the country, authorities said.
A total of 910,890 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the country so far, it added.
Uzbekistan
A total of 233 new cases took Uzbekistan’s overall count to 40,953.
Three more fatalities moved the death toll up to 305, while recoveries increased to 37,947, according to the Health Ministry.
Armenia
Armenia’s case count increased by 175 to reach 43,626.
Three more virus-related fatalities raised the death toll to 872, the Health Ministry said.
Recoveries stand at 37,563, while over 4,925 patients remain under treatment, it added.
Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan reported 125 new cases, raising its total to 43,712.
At least 37,973 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country since March, the Health Ministry said.
The death toll in the country stands at 1,058.
Georgia
In Georgia, seven more cases brought the total to 1,503.
The death toll remains at 19 and recoveries at 1,196, according to a statement from the prime minister’s office.
There are 5,924 people in quarantine in the country and 209 patients under treatment in hospitals, the statement said.
Across the world, COVID-19 has claimed over 838,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since last December.
Nearly 24.8 million cases have been reported worldwide, while over 16.23 million patients have recovered, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
