Ukraine reports highest daily COVID-19 deaths

KIEV, Ukraine

Ukraine on Wednesday reported 256 new deaths over the last 24 hours from the coronavirus, the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic.

The country also registered 12,496 new COVID-19 cases, with overall cases reaching 570,153, according to official data.

A total of 1,668 people are being treated in hospitals, while 8,096 new patients have recovered from the virus, raising total recoveries to 300,079.

Over 73,000 COVID-19 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, health authorities reported.

Ukraine reported its highest daily cases on Nov. 14 with 12,524 people diagnosed with COVID-19. In its aftermath, the country took strict measures to curb the spread of the virus, including weekend lockdowns.
