Turkey's daily power consumption down 7.16% on Oct. 31

ANKARA

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.16% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 740,696 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,197 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,217 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 741,369 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 6.87% decrease compared to Saturday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 39.5% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 17% while hydropower plants comprised 10.6%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,145 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,177 megawatt-hours.
