Turkey to post $1.7B current account deficit: Survey
Current account deficit projections for January range between $1.2B and $2.7B, according to Anadolu Agency survey
ISTANBUL
Turkey's current account balance for January is expected to post a deficit of $1.7 billion, an Anadolu Agency survey found on Tuesday.
The forecast of a group of 12 economists range between $1.2 billion and $2.7 billion.
The Turkish Central Bank will release the balance of payments figures on Thursday.
The economists' end-year expectation is a $24 billion deficit, ranging between $18 billion and $35 billion.
Turkey's current account balance for last December was $3.21 billion, while end-2020 was a deficit of over $36.7 billion.
