Turkey is set to host the Stratcom Summit 2021, an international gathering to address compelling policies, issues, challenges, and trends vis-à-vis the strategic communication ecosystem on Dec. 11-12 in Istanbul.

It will host 112 speakers from 41 international organizations and a distinguished audience of over 3,000, Turkey’s Communications Directorate said in a statement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will address the conference virtually.

Strategic communication, public diplomacy, digital diplomacy, metaverse, nation branding, disinformation, new media, open intelligence, new communication technologies and trends, strategic marketing, and political communication will be among over 30 topics to be discussed at the summit.

Speakers of the conference’s 36 main sessions will include senior executives and officials from NATO, the EU, UNICEF, UN Environment Program as well prominent think tanks.

Turkey’s Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said the summit will contribute to the brand value of Turkey in the domain of strategic communication. "The countdown starts now!" he tweeted.

Meanwhile, he shared a brief video message on Twitter, which said: "The Stratcom Summit aims to create a year around a platform that takes a 360-degree approach for tackling pressing issues and new challenges."

Stressing that the technological developments and new platforms shape our life and disinformation, fake news and social media manipulations pose new challenges, Altun remarked that the art of communication has to respond to new realities.
