Turkey’s state-run aid body provided dental equipment to a health polyclinic in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, the agency announced on Tuesday.

The aid by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) was sent to the Montenegro Clinic Center's dental polyclinic which has been serving people since 1989.

The polyclinic receives around 35,000 patients annually from all around the country, and performs some 1,000 surgeries in a year, and offers prosthetic dentistry services to 2,500 children and dental treatment services to 100 disabled people, TIKA said in a written statement.

The repair and renovation service of the polyclinic building has been completed recently to boost the quality service offered in the dental polyclinic and to provide high standards of disinfection and sterilization.

Most of the equipment used in the polyclinic were old devices and TIKA provided support for the renewal of medical devices with modern tools, the aid body said.

The medical devices provided to comply with the measures taken to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic were delivered to the polyclinic authorities at a ceremony with a limited number of participants, the statement said.

Along with the high quality service to be provided to the public, the modern medical devices will also help in practical training of interns from the medical faculty.
