World No.10 seed in women's tennis Garbine Muguruza from Spain has been eliminated in the 2020 US Open's second round on Thursday.

Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova beat Muguruza with the sets of 7-5 and 6-3 to qualify for the round three.

Pironkova will face Croatia's Donna Vekic in the next phase.

Venezuelan-born Spanish player Muguruza, 26, is a two-time Grand Slam winner (the 2016 French Open and 2017 Wimbledon).

Muguruza was also the 2020 Australian Open finalist.
