The Washington Wizards secured a 127-124 overtime win against the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers late on Monday.

Bradley Beal scored 33 points as Russell Westbrook added 32 and 14 rebounds for the Wizards to help their team extend a five-game winning streak.

LeBron James posted a double-double with 31 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds, while Montrezl Harrell added a season-high 26 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers.

The Wizards improved to an 11-17 win/loss, with the Lakers at 22 wins in the third spot of the Western Conference.

Rockets to release DeMarcus Cousins

The Houston Rockets are set to release their center DeMarcus Cousins, according to an NBA insider.

"The Houston Rockets are releasing DeMarcus Cousins, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. This allows the four-time All-Star to find a team elsewhere and garner interest on the open market," Shams Charania said Tuesday on Twitter.
