Lebanon announced its second coronavirus case Wednesday.

“The new case of a woman who was on a 7-day religious visit to Iran, and returned to Lebanon on February 20, on the same plane as the first case on board," health officials said in a statement.

The health ministry announced its first case of the virus Friday from a woman who returned from Iran's Qom province.

The coronavirus has sounded global alarm, with China, the epicenter of the virus, reporting Wednesday more than 2,700 deaths and more than 78,000 confirmed cases.
