Kenya confirms 981 new COVID-19 cases

ANKARA

Kenya on Wednesday confirmed 981 new coronavirus cases, down from 991 reported a day earlier.

As many as 26 more COVID-19 patients died while 665 recovered, pushing the overall caseload to 148,128, including 2,420 related deaths and 100,245 recoveries, according to the Health Ministry.

Vaccination also continues in the East African country, and a total of 569,244 people have been inoculated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

"From this number 127,451 are Health Workers, 45,968 Security Officers, 84,016 Teachers and 311,809 are other members of the public who include those at 58 years and above," the ministry said in a statement on Twitter.
