Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic left Italy’s Juventus to join the Qatari football club Al Duhail.

Al Duhail confirmed the transfer on free deal on their website on Tuesday.

"The team's management succeeded today in contracting with the Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic the player of Juventus Italian team, in a free transfer deal after the end of his contract with his Italian team and the player will begin his journey with the team in the second section of the league," the club said.

The 33-year-old forward played for NK Zagreb, Dinamo Zagreb, Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus throughout his career.

Despite his failure to play even a single match for Juventus this season, Mandzukic produced 44 goals in 162 matches during his four-year spell for the Italian club.

The Croatian striker scored 188 goals in his 476 club appearances.

He also had 33 goals in 89 matches for the Croatian national team.
