Eurasian countries register new virus cases, deaths

NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan

Health authorities in the Eurasian countries on Wednesday reported new infections and fatalities related to the novel coronavirus.


Moldova

The nationwide death toll reached 1,630 with 13 more fatalities reported over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

Confirming another 833 infections that brought the total to 68,791, the ministry added that 49,702 patients have recovered from the disease so far.


Belarus

The case count in Belarus reached 89,642 with 733 new cases over the past day.

The death toll has reached 941, with four more fatalities.

A total of 80,905 patients have so far recovered in the country, while 7,796 patients are still under treatment.


Tajikistan

Tajikistan reported 39 more COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours, raising the overall count to 10,613.

A total of 9,668 patients have recovered so far, while 865 remain under treatment.


Uzbekistan

With 124 new infections, Uzbekistan's case tally rose to 64,134.

Two more fatalities raised the death toll to 536, while recoveries increased to 61,260, according to the Health Ministry.

The ministry also said 95% of the patients have recovered, while the treatment of 2,338 patients continues in hospitals.

Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, the overall cases rose to 109,766, according to the Health Ministry.

The total number of recoveries reached 105,301, while the death toll stood at 1,799, it said.
