COVID-19: Palestine records 30 new deaths, 2,149 cases

RAMALLAH, Palestine

The Palestinian Health Ministry on Thursday recorded 30 new fatalities related to the novel coronavirus and 2,149 cases over the past 24 hours.

The ministry said 18 deaths were recorded in the occupied West Bank, while 12 others in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Thursday's figures pushed the total number of cases to 133,186, including 106,840 recoveries and 1,186 deaths.

Since first being detected in Wuhan, China in December, COVID-19 has claimed more than 1.65 million lives in 191 countries and regions.

More than 74.37 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 42.1 million, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
