COVID-19 claims 43 more lives in Tunisia
Country's recoveries top 205,000 while fatalities reach 8,268
TUNIS, Tunisia
Tunisia’s Health Ministry reported 43 more fatalities early Tuesday due to the novel coronavirus.
The ministry said in a statement that the country’s tally of casualties from the virus had reached 8,268.
It noted that 614 more patients were diagnosed with the disease, bringing the total count of infections to 238,613.
The country’s recoveries top 205,000.
The pandemic has claimed more than 2.6 million lives in 192 countries and regions since December 2019, when the first case was detected in Wuhan, China.
Over 117.5 million cases have been reported worldwide with recoveries exceeding 66.5 million, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
The US, India and Brazil remain the worst-hit countries in terms of cases.
