Norwegian forward Alexander Sorloth joined German side RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

"RB Leipzig are pleased to announce the signing of Norwegian international Alexander Sorloth," the club said on Twitter, adding that the 24-year-old player inked a five-year contract.

Sorloth will wear the number 19 shirt.

"After the initial talks, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to play for RB Leipzig. The club were impressive in the league last season, and even more so in the Champions League," Sorloth said.

"I'm looking forward to challenge together in the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League," he added.

Earlier Tuesday, Turkish side Trabzonspor said Leipzig reached an agreement with England's Crystal Palace and Trabzonspor for the Norwegian forward.

Sorloth moved to Leipzig for a fee of €20 million ($23 million), while Trabzonspor and Crystal Palace will share the transfer fee equally.

He previously joined Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace, inking a two-year loan deal in 2019.

Sorloth scored 33 goals and made 11 assists in 49 games for the Black Sea Turkish team, a thrilling performance making him a fan favorite.

He also helped the Turkish side win the 2020 Ziraat Turkish Cup.
