Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Thursday met two Anadolu Agency reporters injured while covering May Day protests in Berlin.

Reporters Erbil Basay and Cuneyt Karadag were slightly injured during the clashes between police and demonstrators amid the May Day protests in the German capital.

Basay, an experienced reporter at Anadolu Agency's Berlin office, was hit in the face by a German police officer while filming the arrest of protesters in the Neukoelln district. He suffered a minor injury to his mouth.

Cuneyt Karadag, chief of the agency's Berlin office, was also injured by stones from demonstrators during the clashes with police.

Cavusoglu said he saw the footage where the officer struck Basay.

"I wish you a speedy recovery and hope this kind of violence is not repeated," he said.
