EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on Thursday warned that Israeli actions are putting the US-Iran ceasefire under "severe strain."
"The Iran truce should extend to Lebanon,’’ Kallas said on US social media company X.
She said Hezbollah dragged Lebanon into the war, but “Israel’s right to defend itself does not justify inflicting such massive destruction.”
The EU foreign policy chief emphasized Hezbollah must disarm, as it agreed to do, and said the EU supports Lebanon’s efforts to disarm the group.
The latest Israeli attacks on Lebanon came after Iran and the US announced a two-week truce on Tuesday aimed at paving the way for a final agreement to end the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on Feb. 28, which has left thousands dead and wounded.
