Russia’s Investigative Committee announces that it opened an investigation into incident

ISTANBUL

At least seven people were killed in the Russian city of St. Petersburg after a bus drove off a bridge into the Moyka River.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said on Telegram that rescue efforts at the scene of the incident were completed, and nine people were rescued by the staff.

The Interior Ministry noted that the cause of the accident is being investigated and the bus driver was detained on suspicion of violating traffic and driving rules.

Russia’s Investigative Committee also announced that it opened an investigation into the accident.
