2 more arrested over foiled Bank of America attack in Paris

Total of 3 now under arrest as terrorism prosecutors' investigation of attack continues

ISTANBUL

Two more suspects were arrested Sunday as part of an investigation into a foiled attack on a Bank of America building in Paris, local media reported, citing France's National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office.

One of the suspects is reportedly a minor who was near the scene of the attempted attack and fled on foot, broadcaster BFM TV reported. The other suspect was with him at the time of the arrest and taken into custody, although authorities say he has no direct link to the attempted attack.

One minor was already arrested on Saturday, with his custody since extended.

After the attack, terrorism prosecutors opened an investigation into the attempt to ignite an explosive device outside the Bank of America building.

The suspect was intercepted with a lighter while allegedly trying to ignite a container filled with an unidentified liquid and a firecracker, which he had placed in front of the building.

According to authorities, the suspect told police he had been dropped off at the location after being recruited in exchange for €600 ($692) via the Snapchat app.
